It’s not news that Megan and I are between jobs, but this is the first time we’ve discussed how it affects us. Which is to say, how it increased my enthusiasm for volunteering and coaching Overwatch!
While we do talk about the Nintendo Switch, Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Easter traditions during this episode, the clear highlight is the off-the-cuff mention, explanation, and subsequent rendition of Megan’s childhood jingle: Tootin’ All Day: The Burger King Song. Leave a comment and we’ll send you the mp3.
In this episode of Swag Tier, Steven talks about non-gaming conventions he has attended at Megan’s favorite convention center, the Jacob Javits Center. Tune in to hear how Steven manages to learn about biomedical and pharmaceutical manufacturing, eat freshly baked cookies, and win contests all in one day!
INTERPHEX, the premier pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device development and manufacturing event where you can “Experience Science through Commercialization”.
New York Build Expo, the leading construction & design expo to focus exclusively on projects across New York City.
At last, the episode you’ve all been waiting for – Swag Tier finally brings you a full length feature about Final Fantasy Explorers. Ok, it’s not really a “full length” feature unless you define full length as approximately 10 minutes, but that’s still one third of a 30 minute episode, which is a lot of air time for a game that is over one year old. Other topics include:
- the massive task of cleaning Megan’s closet;
- the relationship between game difficulty and playability in various games;
- and Frizbee’s first (and for her sake, hopefully last) encounter with the Easter Bunny.
We finished talked about a convention less than a month after it happened! That must be some kind of record for us. We had a lot of fun at PAX East, even if we had about divergent experiences. Tune in to learn about the barrage of panels that Steven went to, and which ones really stood out!
We’re back from an unintentional hiatus, and have finally finished with the craziness of PAX and Steven’s month-long journey through Europe (not to be confused with Megan’s Journey Through Europe). While Steven is already off exploring other conventions that we don’t get time to talk about this episode, we’re able to cover baby showers, Sushi Dice, Fax Machine / Telephone Pictionary / Telestrations, and Megan: the Charmin Charmer.
Megan is getting back into League of Legends, and she’s trying to convince Steven to as well! This episode includes talk about esports and the pros, MMO’s, PAX, and possible sponsorships . This may be one of the few episodes where Megan isn’t losing sponsorships, but she’s still making enemies with her candid opinions.
Megan trash talking online:
In this episode of Swag Tier, Megan and Steven review the popular mobile dating sim, My Horse Prince. Ok, it’s really Megan who does the review and Steven who asks questions and paints hypothetical situations (because let’s be real, Megan is the only one crazy enough to actually play a dating sim about a horse). But they both come to the same conclusion – that My Horse Prince deserves the rating of one steaming pile of horse poop. Other topics include some insight into Steven’s food adventures in Budapest and weird apps in the Google Play Store.
Last episode, Megan and Caitlin touched upon on their latest obsession, Overcooked. But a game this fun deserves more than just a few minutes, and so we’re not ashamed that we inadvertently spent nearly the whole episode hyping it up even further. Of course, we wouldn’t be Swag Tier if we didn’t wander off on a couple of non-gaming related tangents such as driving in Portugal and losing sponsorships.
For this episode of Swag Tier, Caitlin joins Megan and Steven to tell them about her first experience attending PAX South. Other topics include:
- a story Steven crafted for Caitlin using Rory’s Story Cubes where he was voluntold to include snakes as protagonists;
- Caitlin’s failed attempts to acquire swag at PAX South;
- Steven’s first experience as a PAX Exhibitor;
- how Megan and Caitlin almost ditched a night out with friends to stay home and play Overcooked in their pajamas.
